PUNK & BEYOND
by admin ~ July 12th, 2010I’ve been invited to exhibit at the Gaye Advert-curated Punk & Beyond exhibit at Signal Gallery. Here’s 4 new windows that were designed especially for this exhibit as well as some information about the show.

When punk exploded onto the music scene in the 1970’s, it seemed to be an aberration: another pointless negative outburst of teenage angst involving lots of swearing, spitting and rudimentary music. Little did we know that nearly forty years on, the seeds planted
by those early Punksters would flourish over the generations, so that In our own time of financial hardship and uncertainty not a million miles away from the troubled world of the mid 1970s, Punk seems ever more relevant and attractive.
In 2010 Gaye Black (Gaye Advert) was commissioned to curate the ‘Beyond Punk’ Exhibition; the show featuring artwork from Adam Ant, Jamie Reid, Gee Vaucher, and Poly Styrene
The exhibition was a raging success, as such Gaye has been asked to curate a further exhibition for 2011.
